Sunday, July 5th



There thats better isnt it? Those were suppose to be fireworks LOL. Yes I wish we could have been together too, Donna, We both had to work yesterday, even though it was suppose to be our weekend off. So did you have a cook out? We did nothing, After we got home from work I relaxed a little then got busy getting the rest of the house clean. At first I was moody cuz on the way home I seen all these get togethers and then was reading on facebook about everything everybody was doing. Frank could tell I was bummed and said do you want to go out to eat, I said No. I wanted to scream, I want to be with Family. Im so tired of sitting here day after day, holiday after holiday, always having to work and always being alone. Sorry, Im really ok now, but thats how I felt yesterday for sure. So I hope you had a great one. What did you guys do? Ok have a good nite.

Waiting & Freezing



So Hellooooo again. Im waiting for the grooming place to call so I can go pic up Remy after his hair cut. He needed it badly. And his nail cut as they were very sharp on the bare legs. And Im freezing as I put capris on but will have to go change as its to cold for that. The rain looks like its letting up but its going to be very cold golfing. I hate that. You dont enjoy yourself to much. But I will dress warm and see if that helps. Okey Dokey you all enjoy your day.

Flag Day



I heard on the radio that it was flag day. So Happy Flag Day everyone. Just got home a little while ago from taking Rodger to the airport. He landed back in Ga. when I hit Gaylord exit. So thankful he was able to be home for a little while and that he made it back safely. Now to start getting ready for our Tenn. trip. Cant wait to see everyone. Ok have a good nite all.

Ok so I had to wash my hair this morning cuz when I woke up it was everywhere. So I will probably have to wash it every morning. So instead of having it all down, I blew it back and tucked it behind my ears. So I liked it a little better. Everyone at work liked it or so they said. Well I havent cried yet about my hair but I bet I might in the morning when Im trying to get it ready for work. I hope I get used to it or Im in trouble! So will be back in Flint to drop off Rog Sunday but have to head right back as I wont get home till 8:30-9:00. Then I will turn around and be back down Wed evening. I have to work till 3 that day Donna, then we'll have to go to bed early so we can leave at 3-4 in the morning. That will be a tough one. So do you know if Tawnya is going yet. Oh yea Troy & Shawna are coming in on Thur. nite now so I went ahead an got our room early. Okey dokey bye for now.

So I'm back. Here is Shelby at the Atlanta Aquarium. Very neat place. So the weather was beautiful today, Didnt have to wear a coat. Went to the laundry mat to do some rugs and our comforter. Wow the price has went up there. 4.50 a load for the larger ones. Glad you got your dryer fixed Donna. Ok well Im going to probably change my layout as I dont like it. Have a great nite all.

Hey there buddies, So I have been doing terrible, have to get a hold of this, before it gets a hold of me. Matthew suprised us Thurs by walking in the door. He is here for a week. He brought a girl with him but is not his girlfriend although I wish it was. She is very nice and I really like her. So last nite I made a big bunch of fatitas and beans and chips & salsa, Another friend of his came over and we had a nice time before they took off to go do more visiting. But I ate 3 of those buggers plus beans. But yesterday was Sue's (my boss) bithday so Yes I had a piece of cake. Not to big though. So Frank has to work tonite and Matt says we should go out to dinner. So here we go again. I didnt even weigh in yesterday, will wait till next Friday. So ok then. Off to start some laundry, Matt brought home a mountain of dirty cloths, I mean bags & boxes, I said dont you do laundry there???? He said he would do it but you know us Moms. They are sleeping cause they were out so late. Oh yea Shawna remember Rog's old bed and how you said it was terrible with that extra Mattress on there, Well after the first couple of nites I asked Kelsey if she was sleeping alright and mentioned to her that we could take that other Mattress off, so she said ok, so must have been bad. I told Matt he should have gave her his room but he said no way, thats all he could think about is sleeping in his bed again. LOL I was texting to Rog last nite, Matt was giving me some pointers. I told Rog I could go to Aprils wedding with him as his date, he wrote back and said LOL MOM thats the funniest thing I ever heard you say> Well....... I woke up this morning thinking Oh my word, they will not have their phone # that they had forever.. Are you guys going to get a land line or just use your cells? So Shawna, did you get your First magazine today? How was the puppet show? Shelby have a good time? So we got up this morning and Frank and I tackled the house and was done by noon. So that was good. Still working on some laundry, and thinking about what to have for dinner. Probably a chicken stirfry. Did have Pizza last nite. Ymmm good but have to do good today. Friday the 13th?


Cravings!
What food do you crave the most? When do you crave it? Is it time for you to eat, or are you responding to being sad or depressed? These are important questions for you to consider when those gosh darn cravings sneak up.
Cravings are such a significant obstacle for so many people. The good news is... you can learn to change the way you respond to the forces and factors that trigger cravings.
Factors include the people, places, emotions, and events that cause us to experience cravings. We have developed a conditioned response over time to use food as an emotional support, and as a "fix it" tool. The problem is that eating something does not change the emotion, nor does it change the situation.
What does need to change is the way you respond to these same situations when trying to change that conditioned response. It is important to consider some of your own personal conditioned responses. I want you to make a list of some of these. Once you have created this list, review each one and create a changed behavior for that situation. The idea of thinking about this ahead of time is critical. This way, when you are faced with a conditioned response situation, you will already have identified what you are going to do as your new behavior.
I'll share one of mine with you to get the ball rolling:
When I go shopping at the mall, I can smell the cookies being baked at the local cookie shop. My conditioned response is to walk over, thinking that I am just going to take in the great smell...but then I buy a cookie. Because I know this is a difficult situation for me, I now plan before I go shopping at the mall. I make sure that I have eaten my meal before I go. I bring a protein snack with me so that if I am tempted, I have my protein snack instead.
If I didn't plan ahead for facing the aroma of the cookie shop, I would likely be munching on a cookie fairly quickly. Thinking these situations through in advance can really help you learn to create a new response for an old behavior.
Today's Affirmation: I am only hungry when my body needs nourishment.

I made the best stirfry tonite. It was so good. I put chicken in it and the dressing was the terriaki sauce & marinade the your brought here Shawna. From Rodgers work. Tell him to keep up the good work there. LOL. And if he happens to bring more of that home, save me a bottle would ya. I did better today, even got my water in. Been having trouble getting all my water down, I dont know why Im still feeling so dragged out. Im eating right and exercised today and feel tired. Probably this menapausal thing. Hi, So I just got done doing the mile walk with Leslie Sansone. Thought I'd try that on my days off. Hmm I sent each of you that site through them. I will copy it and send it to you in email. I know its been hard on you guys but its almost there. I wont be able to come as I have to be at work at 7 again on Sunday. I really wish I could be there to help you guys out. Well did you wonder where I've been? I guess I just took a break. But I'am backkkkkk. So Ive been doing my new calorieking thing, where I enter everything I eat and it adds the cals, carbs, etc. It is really cool I tell ya, I sent Shawna & Donna the site, Did you even bother to look at it, huh? did you???? Im telling you, its more then that, its a whole bunch of stuff, It does cost $9 a month but only 7 amonth if you pay 75 up front. Its worth it. According to them I can have up to 1400 cals a day. So we will see. So Poor Remy had his surgury today, Frank brought him home and we layed him on the couch and he just plopped. Been sleeping since 4:30. Poor baby. So ok well hope you all are doing well. Byeee

Well Hello my fellow dieting buddies! Hows it going? Well I'll tell you how I did today, if I may. I had my morning cereal with blueberries, so good you need to try it. Then I just nibbled on my cheese & V-8 and crackers, but for supper I made pork chops and baked sweet potato & asparagus the way you told me Shawna, with the olive oil & sea salt. Let me tell you---- it was a very good dinner. And I walked twice today. And did some strength training too. And Im only up to 740 calories for the day. Tomorrow is weigh in day . Oh yea I almost forgot, my blood pressure is finally going back down too. So thats makes me happy. Oh and one more thing, this ones really great, Our district Rite Aids may go back to their old hours of 9-9 and on Sunday 10-6. That would be so awesome. Ive always said with this Petoskey being a resort town they should have summer & winter hours. So we should be hearing something about that soon. Well Hello all, This was my breakfast this morning and I gotta tell you, it was I think the best bowl of cereal Ive ever had. Ive never been crazy about fresh Blueberries but they were really good. It was plain shredded wheat with a little splenda. Ymmm is was good. I cant wait for tomorrow morning. Sorry Shawna, I'm sure it doesnt look good to you. So Hello again, How do you like this guy? He's kinda ugly! So had a pretty good day, Work went quick, then stopped and got a couple of things at the store. Had to get me some V-8 . Top 10 things you need to eat every day according to my book and one is tomatoes or he said V-8 or tomato juice too. I know, but dont know how or why drinking the V-8 helps me lose but I drank it everyday when I lost the last 25 lbs. So Im going to start again, Today! So did you have a good time looking at your new home Donna? Thats pretty exciting. Shawna you get better quick! I miss seeing you on here. Okee Dokey, Off to find me something to eat..... Good Morning! Well I feel better now, I dropped those 2 lbs again. I stayed under my 1200 cals so that was good. I think this will help alot. I keep reading how important it is to keep track where you see what your eating and I think that is probably true. You guys have to get that book Eat This, Not That. I was reading it last nite and I just love it. It is going to be so helpful. You will be amazed at some of the things in there. Frank was reading his book and I kept bugging him saying listen to this... So how are you guys feeling today Shawna? Is the worst over? Has it went to Troy & Rog yet? Another New Book

Peekaboo, here is the other book, they are not as big as they look, but big in info! Ok well Im going to sip on some 25 cal hot chocolate and make my forms for writing everything down for the day. So as Donna would say.....Ta Ta....

New Strategy



Hey guys, I went an got this book, I love it. Its got some great things in it. I also went and got the Biggest Losers Complete Calorie Counter. The reason being......I gained 2 lbs this week. I did lose 1 1/2 in. on my belly and 1/2 in. on my hips but I dont like that about the 2 lbs. It could be because when starting to exercise you gain muscle. Thats what I want to think. Not that it could be the guacamole that I made the other nite and ended up eating it all. Found out with my handy dandy new book that I had over 700 cals in just that. Then last nite we caved and had pizza. I had a big salad with it though so come on give my some credit.LOL So thats why Im going to count cals. Its really cool cause now I know just how many cals, carbs & fats I can have each day. And I noticed that now I'm very cautious of what I eat. You look first before you eat. I just had for lunch 2 halves of Clausen Pickels which was only 10 cals and 2 peices of that thin turkey wrapped around. It was very good. Anyway Im having 1200 cals, and I get 540 carbs & 300 fats a day. Doesnt that sound like alot of fats? But thats what 25% of 1200 would be. hmmm Do you remeber how many fats we got when we counted them Shawna? Well let me know what you guys think. See ya

Well I'm just sitting here relaxing, Frank working nights again, so I just ate left over chicken & salad, Made me some guacamoli, I Love it. Got some of those baked chips and are very good. You can eat 14 of them. So now I'm going to change my layout on myspace and then read for a while. By then it will be bed time. So have a good nite all. See you again tomorrow!

Tues. Night

So today was not to bad, had a pretty good day at work, came home and made some fish and a sweet potato. And some spinach. I dont know why I dont eat it more, I love it. Frank wont eat it so I end up eating the whole can. Oh well at least its good for you! Hey check it out, I added a pic. Anyway its way to cold hear, I dont think it made it over O today. So the Library didnt have the Biggest Loser book so they are ordering me one from another Library. So I have to wait....... So the second part of Oprah was very good also. Dr. Oz was on there and had some good things to say, as always. Also that guy that has that book, (Eat this, Instead of That) I think I want that book too. Oh yea Shawna that fish I made tonite was the reciepe from that one site you sent me. Frank really liked it too. It was very yummy. Ok all have a good nite. Monday Evening

So I got the laundry done and cleaned my kitchen real well and changed it all around. Now I have the lights on that you like Shawna and it looks all nice and cozy. So I got really , really hungry so I started looking around for something cause when Frank is working I dont make a meal although I need to start thinking about that so I dont blow it.. So I did find some precooked fahita (ms) chicken that I didnt know I had so I cooked some of that with some onions with it and had some soft shells & cheese. It was very good. I didnt know that the 130 cals in the tortia shells were for 2. I always thought if was for one. So thats pretty cool. Well going to go looking for some things so Nitey Nite.

Monday~My day off.......Yea

Well today is my day off, so I've had my oatmeat, did my walking, took Remy for a walk to the end of our road , and got Frank off to work. So now I need to start cleaning but thought I'd write on here first. Got a little booklet from work last nite on the Biggest Loser. Its pretty interesting. Its got some recepies that look pretty good in it. Frank is going to the Library tomorrow so I asked him to see if they have the BL cook book. Plus Im going to make me a log where I can make copies of it and every day check off if Idrank my water, had my fruits & veggies and proteins and so on. Been wanting to do this for awhile. Oh yea and if I did my walking. I heard John Tesh last nite say some mistakes you make when you are working out. One is that you shouldn't do the same exercise all the time cause your body will get used to it and stop burning cals. He said like if your walking on a Treadmill do it for 3 weeks then do something else. So I thought I should get the Trampoline out and do that every so often. Ok then, well its cold out but the sun is shinning so thats nice. Have a great day. And probably see you again later.! Bye

Saturday Morning, Weigh in Day~~~~

Good Morning all! Well I figured it out Shawna, Thanks so much! So theres my deep blue layout again LOL So I didnt get on yesterday as I worked then we went to pick up Remy. Hes doing very well and seems to have chilled out. He whines every now and then cuz I think hes looking for the other dogs. He is now raising his leg to potty instead of squatting. LOL. This Deb that had him said when he wants to go out, he will jump up and tap your leg with his paws and sure enough whenever he does that we put him out and he goes. Amazing. So we will see. So now about the weigh in. Well I did lose 5 lbs. Im pretty happy with that. Last nite it was getting late so we just stopped at Taco Bell and I got 2 bean burritos. Wonder if I didnt eat them if I would have lost another lb? So how are you all doing? Im going to play on puter a little then to walk. Home Again

So we are back home again. We went to Kohls and found Franks great grandbaby a outfit and a blankie. Then stopped at Mabels as we were both starving. I thought as I was walking in "Ok Debi you can do this" This is one of my downfalls, going out to eat. So I finally did it. I stayed in control. You know that feels so good. I had grilled chicken breast smothered with musrooms(which I love and cant get enough of) and a salad and steamed zuccini and summer squash. It was soooooo good. They brought a little loaf of bread and I had to small pieces of that but thats the only carbs Im going to have today. So Iam pretty pleased. Im really having trouble getting a background layout from somewhere else and making it work, Its starting to drive me crazy. So help somebody!!!!! Ok tonite I will have some fruit and pistaschios as they are mufas and you need mufa everyday. Going to go walking as I only did about 15 this morning. See ya all

Getting Ready

So just been sitting here relaxing while Frank went for his appointment. Getting ready to go exercise in the fitness room. I went down when Frank was leaving and grabbed some more coffee and they had all these sweetrolls and biscuits & gravy. I just looked it over and went to look at the fitness room. It has 2 treadmills and two bikes and a couple of weight things. So I'm getting ready to go now. Ok hear goes!

In Beautiful Traverse City...........

Hello all, just wanted to stop by for the night to see how everyone is doing. Had a good day, ate healthy at work then got here to TC and found out they have a resturant attached and you could order from your room. So of course thats what we did. Ymmm everything looked good and Frank told me he was haveing a BBQ sandwich so I seen a turkey melt so I had that and a salad that was huge. It came with frys and I only ate a couple of them and told Frank to eat the rest. So it was very good and Im so happy that I didnt do worse. The sandwich had a lot of turkey and tom. & lettuce on it so I dont think it was to bad. So in the morning there is a delux breakfast so I hope Im strong. One good thing is they have an exercise room and Im going to try and go in the morning while Frank is at the Dentist. Ok getting kinda of sleepy so will talk to you tomorrow. Just Before Going Off To La La Land~~~~~~

So just wanted to tell you what I did tonight. Well Frank was working nights again, so I dont really make dinner when hes gone. I ususally eat well-junk, So when I got home from work I ate my soup and some cukes and wouldnt ya know it wasnt real long before I was hungry again. So I started looking through the cupboards and just between us ladies.....You know what you want when your aunt comes to visit you for the month. Yes chocolate, salty things.. Well I started to think like that, and then I saw the tuna. So I made tuna salad and put onions & celery and then wrapped it in Rommaine leaves. I have to tell you it was very good and it did the trick. So when I get done here I will eat my apple and off to bed. So Im thankful again for another good day. I hope you all had one as well. Goodnite. P.S. Oh yea for some stange reason while I was eating the tuna, I thought I think this would be good with green olives in it. Not sure but I will try it and let you know!

A Good Day~

So today was pretty good, I stayed on my diet, did my workout on Treadmill so Im pretty happy. Also happy to hear Shawna that you went to Golden Coral and did so well. Very Good. Im very proud of you. I dont think I could have did it. Those Rolls, oh those rolls, snap out of it Debi. LOL. Got lost thinking there a minute. Frank worked tonite so I had a lean cuisine. It was shrimp & angel hair pasta, Very good. Then I had a nectarine and going to have an apple before I go to bed. Did any of you happen to see the Oprah show a couple of weeks ago when she had Dr. Oz on there. He had so much good info on there. New soup recipe

So here is a easy soup recipe that I have made for years when I was dieting. Its good to have on hand when you just want something or its good to have before you eat dinner. Italian Pasta Soup 2 cans chicken broth,1/2 cup of chopped onion, or I use the dehydrated ones. 1/2 tsp oregano, 1 can of chopped tomatoes, or I just used the Italian ones, 1 Tbsp parsley, and 1/4 cup small seashelled maccroni or I like to use that ozra cuz you can add more. 7 carbs 0 fat and only 45 calories. Give it a try. Oh and you can also add cabbage and I always ALWAYS add a can of mushrooms. I love it. I love that recipe site you sent me Shawna, there are alot of good ones on there and I going to start trying them. Ok then you all have a great nite.

Well I had a bit of a problem this morning but I think I have it now. So life is good once again.LOL Did my walking this morning, got a good workout, had my oatmeal and lost 3 lbs since yesterday, I know I know its just water but hey I will take it. Drank lost of water yesterday and did alot of running but I know that helped. Ok well hope your all doing well, I will write again later so I can get the hang of this. Just glad I didnt have to start my Blog over.

First Day Of Blog

Ok so this is my first writing and I got to tell you Im kinda excited about it after reading yours Shawna, and Donna. Mine will probably be about my weight loss journey also cause thats what Im going to be focusing on for the next few months. Yes I need to lose some pounds but my main goal is to get my Blood Pressure & my chlorestrol down so I wont have to go on meds. So I with you Shawna, Donna, Tawnya & Sherry, lets pull together and help each other. I love you all and want to see you get healthy,wealthy & wise,LOL. So keep up the good work everyone, and if you have fallen, get back up, brush the dirt off and start again!!!
